General Requirements for All Pets
Before any service is provided, all pets must:
- Be current on all required vaccinations (see below)
- Be free of fleas and ticks at the time of drop-off
- Be on an active flea, tick, and heartworm preventative
- Show no signs or symptoms of illness or contagious disease
- Have basic socialization skills appropriate for a group environment (daycare and boarding)
Please inform us in advance of any special dietary needs, restrictions, or medications your pet will need administered while in our care.
At Clawington of Madison, the health and safety of every pet in our care is our top priority. Because our dogs and cats share indoor and outdoor play spaces, suites, and common areas, we require all pets to meet the following health, vaccination, and parasite-prevention requirements before they can participate in grooming, daycare, or boarding services.
These requirements help protect your pet, as well as every other pet staying, playing, or being groomed at our facility.
Dog Requirements
Dogs receiving grooming, daycare, or boarding services must be current on the following:
- Rabies
- Distemper / Parvo
- Bordetella
- Canine Influenza
- Leptospirosis
In addition, dogs must have documentation of the following within the required timeframe determined by our staff:
- Negative Heartworm Test
- Negative Intestinal Parasite Screen
- Proof of active Flea & Tick Prevention
- Proof of active Heartworm Prevention
Daycare Evaluation Requirement
All new dogs must complete a paid daycare evaluation before joining regular daycare play groups. This half-day visit allows our staff to observe temperament and behavior with other dogs, new people, and our facility, so we can place your dog in the most appropriate playgroup.
Grooming (Pet Spa) Scheduling Note
Grooming appointments must be scheduled in advance. We are unable to accommodate same-day grooming requests.
Cat Requirements
Cats staying with us for boarding must be:
- Current on vaccinations as recommended by their veterinarian
- Free of fleas and ticks
- Showing no signs of active illness or symptoms of concern
Please contact our front desk at (256) 801-2529 to confirm our current feline vaccination and testing requirements prior to booking, as these may be updated periodically.
Documentation & Verification
Proof of vaccination and testing must be provided by your veterinarian prior to your pet's service date. Records can be emailed to reception@clawington.com, brought in at drop-off, or uploaded through our online booking portal. We may contact your veterinarian directly to verify records.
Pets who arrive without proper documentation may not be able to receive services as scheduled.
Illness & Symptom Policy
For the safety of all pets in our care, any pet showing symptoms of illness (including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or visible parasites) at the time of check-in may be declined service. If your pet becomes ill or requires medical attention while in our care, we will coordinate care to ensure their health and safety are protected.
Financial Policy
This Financial Policy outlines how pricing, deposits, cancellations, and payments work for grooming, daycare, and boarding services at Clawington of Madison. By booking a service with us, you agree to the terms below.
Pricing
Daycare
- Daycare Evaluation: $22 (includes a half-day of play)
- Half-Day Daycare: $19 (includes access to our splash pad)
- Full-Day Daycare: $29 (includes a midday lunch/rest break)
We offer a 10% multi-pet discount per additional pet, as well as discounted 10-day and 20-day daycare packages. Contact us for current package pricing.
Boarding
Boarding rates vary based on suite type, pet size, and length of stay. Please visit our online booking portal or contact us at (256) 801-2529 for a detailed rate quote.
Grooming (Pet Spa)
Grooming pricing depends on the services requested and your pet's size, breed, and coat condition. Please contact us at (256) 801-2529 for a quote, and note that grooming appointments must be scheduled in advance.
Deposits
A deposit equal to one night's stay is required to secure a boarding reservation.
- If your reservation is made by phone, a secure payment link will be sent to you via text or email, and your reservation will be confirmed once the deposit is received.
- When your pet is checked in and out as scheduled, your deposit is applied toward and deducted from your final bill.
- If your reservation is altered or canceled with proper notice (see Cancellation Policy below), your deposit remains on your account and will be applied toward a future reservation.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation terms differ depending on the dates of your reservation.
- Standard Reservations: Cancellation notice must be given during business hours at least 48 hours prior to your reservation. Notice given less than 48 hours in advance will result in forfeiture of your deposit.
- Peak/Holiday Periods: Cancellation notice must be given during business hours at least 7 days (1 week) prior to your reservation. Notice given less than 7 days in advance will result in forfeiture of your deposit.
Peak/Holiday periods include, but are not limited to, the week leading up to and during major U.S. holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc.) as well as school breaks for surrounding school systems (Spring Break, Fall Break, etc.).
All cancellations must be communicated directly to Clawington of Madison during business hours; cancellations are not accepted via voicemail, text, or online form alone unless confirmed by our staff.
Payment
Payment for services is due at check-in or check-out unless otherwise arranged. We accept payment through our online booking portal or in person at our facility. For phone reservations, a secure payment link will be provided for deposit collection.
Discounts & Packages
We offer the following discounts, where applicable:
- 10% multi-pet discount per additional pet (daycare)
- Discounted 10-day and 20-day daycare packages

Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable if a reservation is canceled without meeting the notice requirements outlined in our Cancellation Policy above. Deposits held on your account due to a properly canceled or altered reservation will be applied toward a future service rather than refunded.

We may update these Policies from time to time to reflect changes in our pricing, services, or business practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
